RCCCU designated a REAL Deal Credit Union!
River Cities Credit Union has been named a REAL Deal credit union by the Kansas Credit Union Association and Credit Union National Association in partnership with the National Credit Union Foundation. REAL Deal credit unions are engaged in outreach to their members and communities needing access to financial services. Those efforts include education,programs, products, and participation in communities and charitable activities. The REAL Deal brand is designed to convey the impact of their outreach efforts and recognize success.
The REAL Deal outreach framework includes four pillars: REAL programs—products and services promoting a good deal for members geared toward achieving individual financial success, which include REAL Solutions® initiatives. REAL sources—consumer information to members and nonmembers on credit union services, financial education, and smart choices for daily finances. REAL community help/commitment—community involvement and charitable initiatives/donations, or contributions of resources to charitable programs. REAL partnerships—state league programs or others that conduct outreach through partnerships with community development credit unions or other community organizations. The REAL Deal supports credit unions and their state leagues in demonstrating their value proposition to consumers, policy makers, and members, ultimately communicating the tremendous impact credit unions have on their communities.
River Cities Credit Union was recognized for awarding Joseph M. Carrigan Scholarships to high school seniors, their efforts in raising donations for Children's Miracle Network, hosting a Salvation Army Barrel, hosting a MoneySmart event at Atchison Middle School with the NE Chapter of Credit Unions and offering financial education opportunities to their members.
